MLB Network Presents Buck Showalter

Yeah. Got really great the second half once they got past the Yankee stuff.

I hope to hell we have several more years with Buck here. He lends credibility to the entire organization.

I get the Yankees stuff. Working for Steinbrenner, etc.

I hope he stays with us in some capacity after he stops managing.

I really, really enjoyed that show. I always maintained that Buck was responsible for the transformation of Adam Jones from an immature guy with tons of potential and little success to the unquestioned superstar that he is today. I think that if you watch this show it is apparent that Buck is the consummate "baseball man". We are lucky fans to have crossed paths with him.

Just watched. Really good look at Buck. We are pretty lucky to have a class act at manager after years of several sub par options. Hopefully the 2nd half of this season brings Buck what he is sorely missing - a World Series.

Didn't watch. I know all I need to know about Buck Showalter and what he means to this organization and city. Don't need Costas' conceited, bloated ego, holier-than-thou, anti-internet, savior-of-sports-journalism garbage routine telling me a god damned thing about my Baltimore Orioles. Nope.

Maybe it'll pay for his next plastic surgery, though.

I guess you have made your feelings known about Mr. Costas. I, for one, like him. But even if I didn't, I'd watch the show in case it gave any insights into Buck's personality and philosophy that we don't get from our local media and his pressers. I taped it last night and hope to watch it sometime in the next couple of days.

What do you really think of Costas? :laughlol:

For some reason I have this fear that he'll be a terrible GM when he leaves the dugout. A la Vince Lombardi's ending in Green Bay...

I did DVR it, Roy, and just watched it. Very well done, though I would have liked a segment on managing in the minors and less time spent on Derek Jeter (I'm fine with having that in there, it just seemed a little long given the limited time for this show). There has been enough written about Buck, and I've heard him interviewed enough times, that there wasn't much that was new to me. But it was still fun to watch.
