Chris Davis' crazy night

Frobby

Recommended Posts

- Robbed of a two run homer by JD Martinez

- Robbed of a line single by Kinsler who turns it into a DP

- Hits a tailor made DP grounder that Kinsler boots and then throws wildly, scoring a run.

- Strikes out looking on a pitch six inches off the plate.

He's been robbed of three homers in July. Gotta think his luck will change. I'm going to predict a good second half for Chris.

Or, he is being robbed of his hot streak and he is about to go into one of his unassisted funks. I normally am a positive guy, I swear.

The way this year is playing out, the more likely scenario is his hot streak ends, he goes into an actual slump and his hot streak looks much worse because of said misfortune.

He isn't a problem. We have plenty of problems, he isn't one of them.

This.. I think he frustrates the hell out of all of us at times, but I also think we're going to sorely miss him next year (assuming, pretty safely, that he does not resign).

I just can't see the O's offering him a "premium" contract this off-season. Regardless of the situation (whether the O's make the playoffs or not) they are not about to offer Davis near the money that some other stupid teams will offer.

If you hit a high fly ball right to the edge of the wall, does it really constitute "getting robbed" when it's caught?

Martinez had plenty of time to get under it, and just about every major league right fielder is making that play. It's probably more accurate to say that Davis is "just missing" them.

Martinez pulled it back from over the fence.

He also hit another ball on the nose for an opposite field single in his first at bat.
