Trade Watch (It starts)

Wow, that is a heck of a mustache on Mengden there.

So, a rental of Kazmir gets a 4th round and 6th round pick. If that's what we can expect for Chen, I would rather stay put and give him the QO.

This is a terrible way to view the trade. Right now I'd put Nottingham as an odds on favorite to finish the year in most top 100s. He's a great haul for 12 Kazmir starts.

Exactly. It's not who these guys were when they were drafted, but who they are now. If we can get a similar haul for Chen, we should be dealing him.

I'm beginning to think the Yankees are not a weak team. In which case the Orioles, Blue Jays and Rays would be chasing down Minnesota.

Minnesota added their big bat in Sano. After watching the movie on Sano, I don't really believe the O's were going to pay him. But we should have.

We're not going anywhere. We're two starters, a set up guy and two bats short. Time to sell and call up Alvarez, Urrutia and Mancini. Urrutia is out of options next year so we need to give him a look. Watching highlight clips on milb.com, it looks like he's put on a good 20 lbs. Compare the 13' clips to the 15' ones.

1 Machado 3b

2 Clevenger C

3 Jones CF

4 Parades DH

5 Alvarez RF

6 Schoop 2B

7 Hardy SS

8 Mancini 1B

9 Flaherty LF

Joseph, Lough, Snider, Parm/Urrutia

Ubaldo, Gonzo, Tillman, Gausman, Davies

Britton, Roe, Brach, Givens, Wright, Wilson, Cabral

Could this really be that much worse. All we're losing is 12 starts of Chen. 20 IP of O'day. Davis and MW. Hunter, Norris and Matusz. At least if we kicked in some cash we could get something for Hunter and Matusz.

I believe once the age issue became real, that the Orioles backed off. It's still unresolved. They never did bone age.

Like someone said earlier, if it's the difference between finishing two or three games over .500 and 2 or 3 games under it, then who cares? Let's get the positive value for the future from our players that can provide it on the trade block and not waste the opportunity.

Seems like that right around that time was when the O's completely got away from giving out any big deals to latin talent. In reality Sano is 24 and has been roiding for 10 years. Maybe still is. But he's been exactly what people thought he would be.

If anyone hasn't seen the movie/documentary it's a pretty good watch and shows how shady the whole signing process really is. " Pelotero" is the title. Last time I checked it was on netflix.

Pittsburgh is also looking for a reliever. Maybe they'll entertain Matusz or ODay.

Started at age 14? Man he's going to be messed up.

The definition of a rental. He's retiring after the season and is returning to his first team.
