Toronto hasn't made the play-offs since 1993. We've made it 4 times since then.

Tampa has been to the World Series one time in their 17 year history and they lost 4-1.

Cleveland hasn't won a world series since 1948.

The White Sox have been to one world series since 1959.

Kansas City hadn't reached the play-offs since 1985 until they went to the series last year.

My point isn't to disparage any of these teams. My point is that you're slicing things to make them look worse than they are and you know it. We have the best record in the AL from 2012 - today. Things aren't awful so stop trying to make them appear that way.

Adam is fantastic. I wish the team had assets to trade to help build around him. I'd like to see him and Manny with a strong supporting cast for the next three years.

The Rangers have been much better than us in recent history and so have the Indians, Astros, Cubs, and Mariners if we are going to go back 15-20 years. The Indians won division titles five out of six years from 1995 to 2001. The Astros were very good in the late 90's and early 2000's. The others on that list have been pretty bad, but even the Padres got to the WS in 1998. An argument can be made for us being in the bottom five if we are going to go back 20 years. It all depends on what you consider recent history. For me it's 20 years.

Being robbed of our moment last year thanks to the Kansas City baseball team was as tortuous as anything any of those teams have endured. It was literally stolen from us by a group of people who didn't deserve it and still don't deserve their success. The only thing I can think of that comes close recently is the Rangers in the '11 World Series.

The Rangers were 1 strike away from winning the WS twice. Also, Nelson Cruz had a chance to make a WS winning catch but it went about a foot over his glove.

And you're comparing our ALCS loss to the Royals last year to that? :rofl:

It all depends on perspective. I'm 32 years old. I was 10 months old the last time we appeared in and won the WS. I will take winning consistently and having regular playoff appearances over that. And I don't see where the OP said we were one of the most tortured fan bases of all time. Our recent history has been pretty miserable. It's not debatable IMO.
