Well to be fair, the extreme tanking gave us such a clear competitive balance that it caused MLB to change the draft position rules toward a lottery system. And in all honesty, I believe it is bad to incentivize teams to lose for a protracted period of time. However, I am glad that we did it and that we got to do it before the rule changes. As to the hoarding prospects thing, it most probably hurt our chances last year not to upgrade the pitching talent. But it will most probably help our chances this season. BUT and there's a big BUT/ here, we are at the point where we have to begin to unload some time to take advantage of the opportunity to be the best team in baseball/World Series winners for multiple seasons. -
I though we were talking about HK and didn't notice the conversation was about Mayo. I think your main point about an .850 OPS being exceptional is valid. Just added some extra data points around it. -

The Orioles are headed in a direction where we will have good to great hitters 1- 9. Even if we take a step back whenever Kjerstad takes over for Santander or if Mayo takes over for O'Hearn or Mountcastle next year (which is reasonable to project), we will still be an elite offense because of everyone else. I don't want to say this lacking humility, but with the massive amount of talent that the Orioles have collected, it's too big/too much to really go wrong. -

Did you think Cowser was rushed last year? An advanced 23 y/o college bat with 850ish MiL at bats (at the time of the call up) and a career 900ish OPS in the minors. Was that a player who was rushed? -
Good luck. He doesn’t believe promoting someone before they’ve developed enough to succeed in the major leagues is a thing or equates to being rushed. You have zero chance of getting through to him.
