The starting pitching in July: 3.41 ERA, 6.18 IP/start

That's much better starting pitching in July. Looking behind those numbers a little, we've had 17 of 23 starts allowing 2 runs or less, 2 more of 3-4 runs, and four really bad blowouts totaling 27 runs in 15.2 innings. That's quite good, and if we had been hitting decently, we'd have a winning record in July.

Overall, I feel better about the state of our starting pitching than at any time this year.

Do you think the schedule in July was relatively equal in its level of difficulty as earlier months?

Frobby just had to post this with 2 games left in July........:P

What's the worst that could happen?

Hahaha

In all seriousness, all season I have felt our offense just wasn't good enough. Too many holes in the lineup. Mainly at the rf/lf/1b combo wherever Davis is not playing.

Improve the offense by acquiring a big bat and we got a playoff chase on our hands.

Pitching wasn't great but I trusted that to come around based on Tillman, Chen and gonzo track record. Gausman has too good of stuff not to pitch well eventually.

Ubaldo has exceeded my expectations and thank god lol
