What's your thoughts? Happy? Sad? Meh?

I'm not really happy about it. If it was Parra plus another ML bat, I could have lived with that. But Parra doesn't push us to that next level and I would of rather just kept Davies and rolled with what we had.

What say you?

Dunno yet. Sure the BJs were more aggressive and that's going to be a challenge but a lot of people loved SD's offseason and they busted big time. We will see. I'll root hard for the new guys as hard as I did who they replaced since I'm a fan. Feels weird though having been at last night's game and seeing Tommy/Bud's last game as Orioles and Cespedes as a Tiger.

Like the reboot of the bullpen. Meh about Davies for Parra. Dont get the extreme DD hate but oh well.

I don't hate DD for the deal but when you proclaim,"We are buyers", I want a little more than just Parra.

I can agree with that sentiment. The counter is that we simply couldnt match what other teams had to offer. Of course people then use that to say we should have sold. Oh well.

Saw that we came close on Revere. Philadelphia must have liked Toronto's offer more.

Not to harp on it but you said you like the bullpen reboot as do a lot of others. I think an argument can be made that the best moves we made were all internal (calling up givens, DFA Bud)

Yeah I'm definitely interested in Givens. Sidearm power pitcher right? Would be a nice cheap piece to have.

To me, we should have been sellers and blew a golden opportunity. In addition, we gave up an arm that could be a backend arm in the rotation for a rental that is a joke in comparison to what the Jays did. So why bother doing anything.

I lost a great deal of respect for DD as a GM. I like him but don't understand what he has been doing the past year.

Well I don't think you should just roll over and die because the Jays made some big moves BUT again I think we all know that Parra alone isn't moving the needle much.

Looking at the package the Tigers got for Cespedes do you really think that Wieters or Davis would have brought much more than the comp picks they will bring at the end of the year?

I saw him pitch in person. I worry if he would get pounded by major league hitters, but I am no scout. He definitely is a pitcher and not a thrower.
Another nice outing, but he does allow his share of hits. I am no scout, but he seems like a bullpen arm/swing guy?
I am not impressed from what I have seen. I am no scout but just my two cents.

These are your quotes on Davies.

From your previous posts, you already didn't have much respect for DD. You were afraid of what he would do, remember? Guess what. He gave up a guy who might be a #4 or 5 starter in a few years. You make no sense.
