Has This Team Turned The Corner?

It feels like this weekend may be a sign of good things to come. I know its the A's, but it seems like this could be the corner this team needed to turn to make a run.

All the pundits are in love with the Blue Jays & Yankees, but I would not be surprised if either or both imploded at some point and we still win the division. This weekend series makes that hope realistic.

No. They're playing a non-contending team at home. They've destroyed lesser teams at home all year long. I won't start buying into them until they start winning series against contending teams on the road.

I have to agree, the SP has just been too inconsistent.

No. They are still a team that can sneak in on a WC, but they are just not that good. I think New York has been very fortunate with health and some really good rebound years, but they are better than Baltimore. Toronto is very good. I'm not looking forward to our SP 's their bats.

Beating up on the A's who suck is a good start and a nice way to build some confidence. Only time will tell if they can carry that over and win against some better teams. .

This team has been good at home for most of the year. Let's see if they can hold their own on the road.

That said, it's been an unexpectedly fun (if nerve-racking) start to the homestand. And I continue to be unimpressed by the competition other than TOR.

I'm not overly impressed with either of those teams. Glad we end the season with the,

Today evens that out well. That was just a loss. This is just a win.

The Orioles are a very similar team to the Angels. The Orioles have three great hitters (Davis, Jones, Machado), a couple of other decent hitters (Schoop, Joseph) and a bunch of dreck after that. The Angels have two great hitters (Pujols, Trout), a couple solid hitters (Calhoun, Cron) and are complete trash outside of those four players. The Angels have one really good and consistent starting pitcher (Hector Santiago) just like the Orioles do (Wei-Yin Chen). Garrett Richards is their only other above average starting pitcher and he's been struggling down the stretch just like Ubaldo Jimenez for us. The only difference is the bullpen. I like our bullpen a lot more than the Angels bullpen. But the two teams are very similar in a lot of ways.
