I am still baffled why he would let Hardy hit and play the field when it was evident that he could barely jog. This was a classic case of trying to fix something (game) that aint broke. And yes, the defensive change brought about the defeat. Manny and Jimmy took care of that.

Buck doesn't make many mistakes but....

Buck thought a hobbled Hardy was better then Flaherty at short.

That is sad on many levels.

It's also wrong. Flaherty was replaced by Wieters earlier. Hardy was a better option at short than Wieters. The only other option might have been Davis to third, manny to short, and Wieters to first. Might have been better.
