I have been on record since late July that I am hoping that Davis will be an Oriole in 2016:

(JULY 25th)

o

The Orioles.

(AUGUST 1st)

I'm glad that he's still here.

(AUGUST 5th)

Now, I'm REALLY GLAD that he is still here.

(AUGUST 15th)

Now, I'm REALLY, REALLY, REALLY glad that he is still here.

And I hope that we find a way to keep him here.

(SEPTEMBER 3rd)

Roy Firestone said that we HAVE TO sign Davis.

So, let's do it.

The fact that he's a good defensive 1st baseman makes it imperative, in my rat's ass of an opinion.

(SEPTEMBER 4th)

o

Pretty please, with carob-coated rice cakes on top ??? )

He's going to NYC. Because ... Murica' (And that's where all my Orioles go for some reason.)

Ken Singleton ran the gamut.

He grew up in Mount Vernon (just outside of the Bronx), where he was a New York baseball Giants fan. His daddy was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan.

Then he was drafted by and played for the New York Mets.

Then he went to the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals) in the Rusty Staub trade.

Then he went to the Baltimore Orioles along with Mike Torrez in a trade for Dave McNally and Rich Coggins for the remainder of his playing career.

Then he went to the New York Yankees as a sports commentator.

In between, he still lives in Cockeysville, MD and is married to a woman with roots in Baltimore's Little Italy.
