Yeah' date=' I just meant with 5 games to go in the season. I can't ever remember a year with this many in-season firings/retirements.[/quote']

I am with you on that, Wasn't shocked at Maryland, but the one that blew me away, was Spurrier walking away like that in mid-season, and the confusion in SC, weather he retired to just quit to coach another team.

This is interesting! When I first heard he was retiring I had thought that the school already knew. But he announced it early because of the Maryland announcement.

There's a TON of talent in that state. Penn State could have an all home grown football team' date=' and be one of the more talented teams in the country. That doesn't really apply to the rest of the Northeast.[/quote']

PA- 9 four star rectuits, 46 players rated 3 stars or better

MD- 6 four star rectuits, 45 players rated 3 stars or better

DC- 3 four star recruits, 15 players rated 3 stars or better

There's plenty of talent in DC/MD. More than in PA despite being significantly smaller.

Penn State's football program will always recruit easier and better than Md, just based on the rich history of their football program, just on name alone, like Notre Dame, etc.

Considering how he left the Redskins I am not surprised how he left SC.

Also a program that relies fairly heavily on poaching players from Maryland. It's something the next coach has to change if they want to be successful.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But doesn't Penn State's current team have 9 starters that come from Maryland?

Face it, you are a star high school player, where do you want to go for national highlights and possible professional career, Maryland or Penn State?

I don't think Penn State gives anyone a better shot at the pros than Maryland. If you're a pro player, they'll find you. Some of the best players in NFL history are from schools I had never heard of before.

How many good Penn State players are there in the NFL? The only one I can think of is Allen Robinson and he's basically just an above average wide receiver.

I'm not sure. Ever since the scandal I don't see Penn State on national highlights near as much. I think it's time for Maryland to take their chunk of talent back while they still can. Might have to promise some freshman starting jobs to do it though.

That's silly homer talk. SC plays in a 90,000 seat stadium and a great atmosphere. Miami has all the tradition. Maryland has what?

Reich could be a good hire, if interested. Though I don't know what kind of recruiter he would be. Your best bet is to go after an OC at a Big 12 school.

?I think Miami is just an absolutely terrible job. I think this program is bankrupt. I think it has a delusional fanbase thinking this is the ?80s and the ?90s and maybe even the early part of the new millennium. I don?t get it. I don?t know why any coach in their right mind would want this job.?

?They?re living in the past with no future.?

?I don?t think it?s a better job than UCF.?
