Boy, I have seen the light!

Of course a draft full of HS kids should be paying off dividends at the ML level within two years.

I am glad that some people don't take everything at initial, face, value. I look forward to our picks. And I am glad that the Blue Jays emptied their overflowing well.

O's had 4 picks in top 100 in 2013. No one has played a major league game

Only 2players drafted in 2012 have played a major league game

You can go through the Orioles draft picks and not find much success. Understatement. For a small market, low revenue team without a wealthy owner and a RSN that has anything more than public access ratings, drafting should be in the team's number 1 priority. Drafting should be where the Orioles make their living. the team cannot be successful if they merely draft as well as their competitors, since many of their competitors can pay free market prices for players. The Orioles do not with any regularity pay market prices. Chen was a steal. A great business decision. The player over performed. Now, he will walk, squeezed dry by his team.

Where's the draft success?

No wonder we've only been to the playoffs twice in the last four years. You've really explained it well.

H

So the forfeited picks drop out of the 1st round?

No. He should have done his job and drafted better players. He should have hired better scouts and minor league instructors.

For the price of a stiff like De Aza he could have had the best scouting department in O's history

And if your team lacks quality talent in the minors that can be major league ready, maybe you shouldn't draft HSplayers that take 6 years to get to the majors. Are HS players cheaper? Lol

It's more than bad luck that 32 years have passed since the O's have played in World Series game. Incompetence in the front office has been a major factor

I have the Orioles making the playoffs once in 3 years. And twice in 17 years, 4 times in 32 years. If that's your definition of success you are rooting for the right owner

What? This tirade has nothing to do with the post you are replying to.

Three of our first four picks in 2013 were high schoolers, it's not likely they would make it to the majors by this point. Only six of the 2013 first 100 have seen even a little time at the ML level and only Kris Bryant has had any impact.

We should give ours PEDs. They'd get good quicker.

DD should have done his job and hired better coaches and trainers who already know they should give our draftees PED's so they could get better quicker. Then you could draft HS players and they wouldn't take 6 years to get to the majors. For the price of a stiff like De Aza we could have the best PED peddlers in the business top to bottom.

And while we're at it PA shouldn't let any more players walk after being squeezed dry by his team - it reflects badly on the city of Baltimore. He should sue them if they even think about it.
