all I have to say is I knew we were in for a long night when I saw he had Payton in the lineup over Jones. Payton hits 1 HR and wham..no way Payton should be starting in the OF unless someones hurt.

Well now he can't whine to Trembley about not getting PT. He certainly doesn't deserve it after this performance. I'd bench him for the rest of the series, barring injury.

Playing guys like Payton, Fahey, and Millar while giving days off to Brian Roberts and Adam Jones this early in the season is baseball blasphemy! No wonder no one around baseball had him on their managerial job list after all these years.

I was calling for Payton to be pulled for Jones before the carnage happened.

And yeah, I wasn't crazy about the way Trembley managed today. Hopefully he'll learn something from this. Perhaps that Payton sucks.

I'm sorry you're right, Trembley is the next coming of Earl Weaver and Payton's a veteran ballplayer that is an asset to this team. I wasn't wearing my orange colored goggles. Next time let me borrow yours...

DT tonight acted like Perlozzo, you can't deny that. He just fed Sarfate to the wolves. And not PHing Jones for Payton in a tie ballgame where Payton had gone 0-3 is inexcusable. Even tied at 5 we had a chance to win and Trembley's poor mananging cost us that chance. And if you don't think Payton should be benched, apparently those goggles were really opaque...

I don't get it... People call for them to trade guys like Payton and Millar, but you don't want to give them the playing time? Do you think a team is going to trade for a guy that the Orioles won't even give playing time to?

Unfortunately that was mismanagement of an old FO, and the best thing this FO can do is build his trade value and trade him. That means getting him AB's.

THe next few years are about growth and rebuilding. That means growth of the manager two as he begins to understand his new players.

I agree with this post 100%. If the game upsets people this much, watch something else. The Nationals were on the other MASN channel and I can watch their games and I don't even care what happens....and my blood pressure stays under control. And there's always the History channel....

He had PT, three ABs where he looked pathetic at the plate. That's plenty and you could still give Jones a chance to hit. Reyes isn't exactly lights out and Shields the tough RHP that Trembley was protecting Jones against was out of the game. It was the perfect opportunity, tie game nobody on and Trembley blew it.

I'm not mad at the players, we knew what we were in for with them. But there is no excuse for Trembley's poor managing tonight, none...

Yeah that was a disheartening loss. I wouldn't blame Trembley for it though. The bullpen showed how inexperienced they really are. Good news though... we're still in first place!

I know what you mean, where is Jay Gibbons when you REALLY need him???

Unfortunately, the REALITY is that Payton is on the roster and he WILL get playing time, most likely NOT for MARKAKIS. Tremblay is STUCK with him on the roster becasue of a STUPID free agent contract that was negotiated that pretty much guaranteed that we CAN NOT trade the guy. So he's here and he will play, so we need to accept it now or be miserable.

Let's face it, our bench is horrible and we don't have shortstops who are AVERAGE double-A players at best. And that's just INEXCUSABLE.

Dude - the "venom" was out before RShack showed up. I think he was spot on.

Managers make decisions - sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Tonight they didn't. It happens. We were 6 and 1 before yesterday, so Tremblay must have been doing something right. All the sudden he turned into an idiot?

Let's face it, whoever mentioned earlier (in another thread) that a fresh Aquino would have been better to bring in apparently would have been wrong as well, since he also gave up a couple of runs. Let's face it, maybe no move was going to be the right move tonight, but we'll never know.
