3-1 is often a good pitch to hit. Certainly a better place to take a cut than 3-2.

I mean, he gets a lot of strikeouts in general. Some are going to be of the swinging variety while others will be of the looking variety. Not sure either form is "preferable."

He's not getting on base, he strikes out too much and his slash line stats are dropping like rocks; .211 (8-for-38) over the last 10 games with nine strikeouts. Being able to work counts and be solid defensively alone doesn't

make a lead off hitter. He's hitting .235 in May.
