I agree but Buck's reasoning is KC is heavily right handed. It makes sense on that level.

I was actually surprised to see how horrible Wright has been against lefties:

.369/.421/.607 - 1.028 OPS in 95 plate appearances

He hasn't been great against righties, but...yeah.

On the plus side, Kansas isn't scoring many runs....but they do have a middle of the road offense from an average, OBP and OPS perspective.

Not sure how I feel about this matchup. They don't strike out much. They're a contact team with the second best team average. 2nd in stolen bases. This is a recipe for a guy like Wright to get rattled.

I have no clue why they are starting Wright, none. I want to see what he can do out of the bullpen.

Right. He's 234/305/458 against RHB in 119 PAs. That's not great either, but that's almost 300 points less in OPS.

I believe in Mike Wright. I think he has ML quality stuff. His stuff sure looks better than Dylan Bundy's.

He's young. He's going to go through growing pains. It takes time to learn how to pitch on the ML level. He'll get there if we stick with him.

I hope you are right!

I still see a very good bp arm.

Regardless, the stuff is there.
