Sarfate's pretty inexperienced too and control is not exactly his forte. This is the type of situation where I'd use Bradford/Walker if they were fresh.

You already have Sarfate warmed up though. Not using him is basically the same as using him as far as tomorrow is concerned. He's the right guy to bring in. Getting guys up and down and not using them is very taxing on the bullpen. Similar to how Sherrill coughed up a HR to the first batter he faced in Chicago after warming up about 3 times earlier in the game.

Pena is up there on my list of players who annoy me a LOT which also includes Rick Ankiel, Bill Hall, and Lance Berkman.

Its hard to argue something different would've happened with Sarfate facing Upton instead of Pena, but I think the odds would've been more in our favor. Upton didn't hit it hard off of McCrory, but you can't leave a guy making his debut in the game in that type of situation when you've got a rested and ready arm in the pen.

I may be clueless, but I can make a better throw from RF than Jay Payton.
