Last 23 games - not mediocre at all...

The O's just finished a 23 game stretch playing teams with the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 9th best records in the AL (with 20 of those games against top 6 clubs).

During that span they were 14 - 9 (.609 winning pct).

Over the last 19 of those games against some of the best pitching the AL has to offer, the O's are on a pace to break the record for HRs in a month.

Despite the patchwork rotation, the team keeps winning. I'm pretty amazed with these guys.

With Schoop's HR today, we have 5 players on a pace to hit 30+ HRs. Not sure the last time that happened (if ever) in the majors.

I don't think there has been a ML team with 5. 12 teams have had four with 2009 Phillies being the last to do so.

Still mediocre. Subtract the two 7 G streaks and the 5 G streak and we are 19 - 28. Have to stop winning more than 2G in a row

Subtract all the wins and we are winless!

Yes, if you don't count the wins, the Orioles are a losing team.

Just applying the Tony OH formula. If after you take out the fluky streaks, if what's left is better than .500, then you're not mediocre.

And subtract all the losses and we're guaranteed first place--I'm a glass is half-full type of guy.

If we lost 7 in a row a couple times people would not say, "If they took away the fluke loses we would be decent". This team would have much longer win streaks if they got consistent mediocre numbers outside of what Tillman has done. The AL East will get stronger and I still believe the Jays and Red Sox have a run in them. If the O's cannot get the starting pitching holes resolved they are a 3rd place te as much when the season ends IMO. But wow can they hit the long ball.

And if Buck would have played Kim more like he should have we'd still have five....;) :slytf:

Yep, if only we had lost a game in the middle of those streaks and maxed out at 3 game winning streaks. That would truly prove our mettle.

Indeed/ No more than 2 W in a row. 3 is a winning streak.
