Oh crap. This is BAAAADDD. That means we see more Caleb Joseph. But we see more Pena, so I guess that's a positive.

No, it's not. If he was really hurt, he would have been pulled right then. He still caught the rest of the game.

Caleb caught the rest of the game when he got drilled in the nuts, and had to go to the ER right after the game. I'm just worried that Joseph will catch the rest of the series

I'm pretty sure Hardy finished the game where he broke his foot.

Caleb will be fine. It's not like has much of chance to get any at bats. He does better when he is in the rotation more often.

Yeah. I'm overreacting. We'll see the verdict tomorrow, I guess

Caleb's injury was late in the game. Eight inning and he was down for a while.

Yes, but a catching a different. Lotta pressure (weight) on your feet. If something was seriously wrong (broken bone) Wieters wouldn't have finished the game.

I saw this last night, and my first thought was crap, another HBP in NY, and gone for the season, like Cakes.

Hopefully, he will be fine.

There are so many bones in one's foot, not sure, what you said is true.

Matt is a gamer.

I have seen a number of folks hurt a foot and be fine until the shoe comes off.

usually that's an ankle injury and the shoe is a hightop, surrounding the ankle and when the shoe is removed, the swelling is allowed, since there is now room.

There are so many small bones in one's foot, its crazy.

Nope, I'm pretty sure the ones I have seen in person were foot injuries. ;)

I don't hang out with folks that wear hightops very often.

I do, however, hang out with folks that should be wearing steel toed boots and aren't.

    • We also know the offseason is not over after Free Agency. I know you don't want to resign Burnes and I do, but I don't think the season is over if they don't resign him. I do however think the offseason will be a failure if Elias is unable to replace Burnes either through free agency (With Evoldi gone it's Burnes or Bust FA wise) or trade.  This rotation needs another starter and whether you want to call him a #1, TOR, or whatever, they do need an established pitcher that will be your opening day starter.  If Elias is unable to do this, then he needs to find a way to add an established MOO to add to the batting order, most likely through trade. I'm not a fan of O'Hearn being the everyday DH/1B against righties and right now, the elephant in the room is their 2B was really bad last year and while Holliday should be better, he's not a guy they can count on in the lineup until he shows it. Right now this offseason feels like an Angelos-owned offseason. It's far from over, and Elias showed last year that he could trade for a TOR without giving up any impact prospects (though Ortiz would have looked pretty good at 2B last year), but this ofseason is a big one for him and we end up feeling bad at the end of it and the Orioles stumble again next season either making the playoffs or in the playoffs, it might be time to truly evaluate whether Elias is the guy who can take the team to the next level.  It's always possible that Elias and Sig are good org builders, but not good World Series builders. That's a different skill set that Elias has not been successful at so far. While the the Burnes trade was a good one and one I'd make every time, he still gave up an everyday player (Ortiz) and a good arm (Hall) for a one year of a pitcher on a team that could not win one single playoff game. That's just facts. Let's hope this offseason leaves us hopeful that the Orioles will be true World Series contenders.
    • I mean, wouldn't the billionaires just spend their money on identifying/signing the best new talent, or whatever the new standard is? I don't like that some teams have more resources than others to build with, but the results haven't been that terrible. I'd probably be in favor of some kind of cap around player salaries/acquisition pipelines, but it's never going to happen.
    • That is certainly how MLB has evolved.  I realize I'm an old fogey, but the days where you grew your team with the farm system and made a trade once in awhile were better.  And players actually had some allegiance to their team/city/fan base at least a little...   And this rant has nothing to do with the fact that the Orioles haven't splurged on a marquis free agent.  To me, it would just be another Billionaire purchasing players.     MLB sucks.  Which rich tycoon purchases the most stars?  Really?  This is entertaining?  My interest level has gone from passionate interest to casual interest to nearly no interest at all...  I did not watch the World Series last year for the first time since I was 9.  I couldn't care less which Billion Dollar payroll won.  This may be the last year I follow the sport at all... I think that's a sad statement. I grew up in the 70's and 80's passionately following and watching the Orioles at Memorial Stadium- we shared season tickets with a few other families.  Good times.  Better times.
    • Coming off a 100 win season and adding Burnes, the Os weren’t the favorite by many. Lots of people just like betting on the Yankees, so they get the benefit of the doubt as a favorite. They will likely be the favorite even if the Os sign Burnes.    But being the favorite doesn’t mean you automatically win the division title.
    • So you're telling me Gleyber Torres to Baltimore is a no.  What else you got, Mike?
