For those following Miranda's progress, apparently the M's have decided to keep him over Taijuan Walker for their stretch run. Pretty impressive for Miranda, possibly a horrible decision by Seattle.

Strikeout rate is down, not going deep and allowing a lot of homers. Sounds like a wise choice by the Mariners.

He's only had one start since coming back from DL, and he's had enough good starts mixed in that it's hard to tell a trend line. Before his last two starts, his ERA was sitting at 3.29. Anyway, the point was not to predict one way or the other, just noting that Seattle is signaling that they must think very highly of Miranda.

Miley was good against the Diamondbacks.

Miranda was KO'd after 4 innings by the Twins.

Miley was great. Didn't think he had it in him due to that back issue. Great defense played a huge part, but Miley was efficient and didn't nibble. All of his pitches were working. Slightly generous strike zone, but took advantage.

Miley's FIP 3.91. Exactly at his career average. Suggesting he's been really unlucky.

Miranda's FIP 5.68. 11HR's given up and only 21 ER. I'd say he's been a little lucky.

Hoping Miley has another good start in him at Yankee stadium.
