He was certainly a replacement for Fowler. If you took the first fiveweeks and zeroed them like Fowler's DL time was zeroed, how do they compare? Offensively.

Pedro now has a higher OPS than Trumbo. Alvarez is a perfect example of how Buck is good at putting guys in the best situation to succeed and then getting good results from it. Just like the back end of the bullpen.

Now if we can just get some base runners on for his home runs.

Trumbo was our best acquisition. I'd much rather have Fowler than Alvarez because his skill set would have fit the team much better. That said, Alvarez has done a solid job. You can't ignore the first two months, but he's made up for them by now and hopefully will stay hot down the stretch.
