Video: Talking Minor League prospects

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Let me ask a question though, do you prefer long ones like this or would you rather see/hear shorter 10 minute segments done more often?

I like the depth. I think that is the value you add over some of the other O's related podcasts. It's possible that you could get to the same level of detail with more frequent short pieces. Either way I appreciate the time and effort and look forward to seeing where it goes.

I didn't mind the length. I sit at a computer all day and can stick in headphones and listen to it like a podcast. I would be interested in shorter, one-topic pieces if you had the time. Maybe a deeper dive into a specific prospect. Could be a great addition to the annual Prospect Rankings for the top 5.

I suspect you'd have a dedicated following. The more often, the better.

Easy for me to say.:thumbsup1:

More is better. You can always listen to half and get back to the other half later. I'm happy with as much info that you can provide us with. I thought it was done very well. It was a quick 40 minutes for me.

It really was. I love it.

I liked the length (still have 5-7 min to go, which I will get to on the way to work tomorrow). My only suggestion would be to repeat the player which you were discussing occasionally because an old guy like me keeps forgetting who you're talking about. Regardless, I agree with others. More, more and more. Thx for putting this together.

Awesome Tony. Thanks a lot. I'm fine with the length. Any chance I can actually sit down to watch/read/hear Orioles I can't get enough.

I'm glad you touched on Gassaway and Ferguson. Those were the two guys that caught my eye on that team. I hadn't realized that Jaylen was that young.

Yeah, disappointing years for Reyes, Hess, Scott. (But) offset by some real upside in the most recent draft class.

Thanks Tony.

I know this may sound crazy but could Sisco give us a spark right now? MW is struggling and Joseph is 0fer the season in HR and RBI.

A lot of guys skip AAA and contribute. Manny, Conforto, Benintendi. Just a few recent names.

A handful of his doubles go over the wall and he's got better numbers than Benintendi all the way around.

I like the longer ones. I treated it like a Podcast and listened to it at work. Sorry I didn't feel the need to stare at your face for 40 minutes ;).

Ha, I don't even want to do that. I honestly figured most people just listen to it more than watch it.

I liked having all that info packed into one, but I also think it would be nice to have several shorter VLOGS that focus on a few specific topics on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Either way, I really appreciate the info and look forward to the next one!

    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
    • Well it certainly doesn't look like he'll be winning Rookie of Year award. And if we send him down for like the tiniest amount of time, we get him for another year, right? I think if this poor hitting continues it's financial mismanagement not to send him back down. Grayson got sent down and came back way better.
    • He certainly isn't a bust but I wasn't happy with the pick at the time and I don't love using the second overall pick for that type of player profile. Westburg signed for slot so he's irrelevant but Mayo was a great use of the money saved.
