Alex Wells threw most of you all off, but we like the upside of the crafty lefty and feel he might fill out and throw harder. Saying that, who are the next two?

I voted Scott and Mountcastle, but I think I could see Mancini in there too. From what very little I know about all three, it seems like Mountcastle has the highest ceiling, and Scott is a great piece but has issues with command. I also like Mancini but he seems like he's limited-to-average at 1B with enough power to be an effective everyday in the majors, but perhaps not an all-star. Everything I've seen from Brian Gonzalez would lead me to believe he's not above those three. I have no idea about Matthias Dietz.

This one is tough. You could make a case for any of these options. I'll go with Mancini and Mountcastle.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the rankings and reviews of Wells and Hays.

Mancini and Mountcastle.

Surprised to see these guys fall so low in the rankings.  They are both top five for me, but then again I tend to value results a little more than projection.

Interesting take, especially on Mountcastle. Look at that K-BB ratio. Are the results that good? Where does he play because it's not shortstop?

It's a cause for concern, but it seems that like Jonathan Schoop the kid can just flat out hit.  I'm not sure where he plays.  2B? LF? I don't understand why the organization keeps guys like him and Reyes at positions they have no chance at playing at the major league level.  Learning a new position can be difficult enough as it is.  So why delay it?

Some of it is coming from the front office. As for Mountcastle vs Schoop, go look at the stats for Schoop when he was 19 vs Mountcastle.

You can play shortstop as long as you can.

If it's Dietz then we either had a really good draft, or had a terrible system pre draft.  Both still could be the case.  So far it's been Sedlock, Harvey, Sisco, Hays, Akin, Hays, Wells.  Obviously you guys aren't too fond of the guys that were in the system pre draft.  Maybe it is Dietz.

Personally I'd have the next 5 as follows

7.  Mancini

8. Scott

9. Mountcastle

10.  Dietz

11.  Gonzalez

I said Mancini and Mountcastle, mostly because I think Mancini has to be in the top 8 and I think Mountcastle gets the nod over Gonzalez (though I do like Gonzalez).

Y'all are gonna love Mancini next year. Think Trumbo, but if he was just at the DH spot all year. Honestly, if Sisco doesn't work out at catcher, I think they should try him in RF in Norfolk, as it's shorter in Norfolk than left.

I don't see Mancini being that much like Trumbo.    Trumbo had a .200 ISO in the minors and .220 in the majors.   Mancini's was .166 in the minors.    We all saw that he has some power, but I'm not expecting him to be a 30 HR guy.    That said, he might hit for a higher average than Trumbo.   I'm thinking a guy like Eric Hosmer might be a pretty good comp, though Mancini probably won't hit quite as well as Hosmer.
