something was bothering him in the 5th (radio broadcast suggested his hip.) he stayed in after meeting with trainers. He went on to give up 2 HRs in the 6th (after giving up only 1 all season). I hope he is not hurt

C'mon he is human! Don't make excuses! He was going to give up some runs sooner than later. No big deal!! Now his ERA ia at 1.7 something,WOW!!!

That's less excuse than concern. The radio broadcasters happened to mention he had some issues. His issues may have affected his performance. It's not excuses, it's a reasonable cause for concern.

From the Frederick Keys website:

"For the second time in the month of May, the Carolina League has named Frederick Keys right-hander Jake Arrieta the Pitcher of the Week. The Texan had just one start last week. He threw eight shut out innings against the Winston-Salem Warthogs on the way to his fifth win of the season.

Arrieta has been dominant in the month of May. In four starts, he is 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA. He currently leads the league in strikeouts, with 64 in 59.2 innings of work. Opposing batters are hitting just .137 against him this season."
