Not exactly the OBP upgrade that I was hoping for.

Why do you think we would fish in that pond? I have seen no indication if a trend towards that type of lineup. It's an expensive skill too. There are others.

I took a look at his numbers before and was underwhelmed.

I mean, at least he stole 43 bases, which is pretty impressive at 35 years old last season.  But an OBP of barely .300 isn't much to write home about.  At least he would give them speed at the top of the lineup.  I dunno, I guess it's better than what they have, but if this is the best they can do...ugh.

There are a lot of options I'd rather have than a 36 year old Rajai Davis coming off a 78 OPS+ season.

I would rather have:

- Angel Pagan, better hitter in old age

- Ben Revere, much younger candidate for bounce-back

- Dariel Alvarez.  yep

This is a terrible option, and I agree with you on what you would rather have.

He's a righty platoon-ish guy that hits LHP (career .780 OPS) and can play CF.  Although that disappeared last season for some reason... it's what he is.  I'm concerned about his age.

Is Urrutia the good cuban or something?  We've given him plenty of chances and have barely looked at Alvarez and Miranda(SEA now) at the MLB level.

I'm all for being in win now mode.  So I can see why you'd want to go with a player with a track record of mashing LHP, but should get a shot.  Plus how much room do we have in our OF.  Is Rickard not safe?  Even though he hit LHP better than Davis last year.

I'd rather see the big dominoes fall and then pick up the platoon guys.  Doing things backwards might limit your options with a bigger player.
