They sure don't seem worried about blocking Mancini.

I don't know whether to be worried that Mancini isn't that good, or to be worried because management won't give good looking young players the opportunity they need.    In five years we've basically given two guys from our farm system -- Machado and Schoop -- a shot at being everyday players.

Because he's not any better than Napoli who will be significantly cheaper and not cost a pick. I thought that was pretty obvious.

Well, yes, he'll be cheaper and not cost a pick.  Disagree that Trumbo isn't the better player, though.

I am in the smaller camp that believes Trey is a beast and will outperform  current expectations.   I hope we give him the shot.

My preference is neither, though.  I think Saunders is the best option.  Not sure why you'd love to get Napoli in any case.  If you want to sign a DH other than Trumbo, why not Pedro?

I should have specified that I'd love to get Napoli because it would take us out of the running for Trumbo. I'm good with Pedro too.

Napoli has a better OBP than Trumbo or Saunders. I think he's a better fit for what this team needs than either of those two.

I disagree - Saunders is a better fit because he's left handed and can play some OF.  Napoli's AVG/OBP is going down now that he's older.  Basically, none of the sluggers on the market are going to solve any OBP issues at this point.  But I do think the team should pick one up.  If the team struggles to get on base, they need to keep slugging.

Saunders failed the PRE agreement physical at the winter meetings. Orioles only interested if a one year according to MLB trade rumors

He has always been hurt and he is worse in the field than Trumbo. Without he rocket arm also.
