No, I watched the game. I don't remember the other outs, I usually don't remember outs.

Doesn't matter, it's just reactionary stuff. Markakis is in somewhat of a slump. So what? If you want to give him a day off, fine. Benching him in favor of someone else is stupid.

A guy doesn't get better at the plate by hitting in the tunnel.

Well Arod was just got under two balls.

Markakis looked like a blind man relaying on his hearing to hit the ball tonight.

Well, last night he looked great.

You don't bench the guy. Like I said, if he and DT feel they need a day off, fine. You don't sit him while he watches someone else play and take his ABs.

I don't think he needs a day off. Probably just lost a little focus and might not be seeing the ball well. It happens, you've got to grind through it.

You don't start sitting guys when that happens.

I never said he should be bench, and I never want him bench unless injuried. I was just stating he was awful tonight.

So, you're on board with benching your stars as a method to get them to break out of slumps?

I'd love it if the Yanks benched A-Rod for 2-3 games every time he went 4-for-25.

Not benching - regularly scheduled time to reflect. Markakis never sits.

This is the exact reason I'm worried.

No, this is not the reason you're worried. The reason you're worried is because freaking out is just what you do. You do it about every time we lose a game. You overreact to every little piddly thing. If a girl did it, she'd be told she was hysterical or somehow being affected by hormones. But because you're a guy, there's not some cliche thing to hang it on.

The thing you're talking about is not the reason, it's just the latest excuse. There's always a latest excuse. Several times per week there's a latest excuse. Some dumb little thing happens, you wet your britches and start panicky threads about it, demanding some kind of dramatic action. And that gets followed by 6 pages of people trying to reason with you about it. It's like the OH is your own personal group therapy session. Except you never get better, you just keep on doing the exact same thing.

Now, we all know that Nick is gonna get better about his slump pretty soon. We all know that BRob is gonna be BRob and be fine too. But when are you gonna get better at dealing with your thing? Do you think getting benched will help you improve? If so, then go grab yourself some pine. If not, then quit demanding that guys who are actually good at what they do get benched.

We do? So you've gone over to Doc Brown's house and taken the DeLorean for a spin? There are some things here that just don't look good. We hope they can come out of it, but you don't really know. Markakis is not hitting XBHs and although he is walking, he's striking out a ton. Part of that reason is no protection in the lineup I'm sure but his eye seems to be off as well. Roberts is not getting on base or hitting for average right now and April and May are supposed to be his hottest months.

There's reason for concern here, just because you can't see it or refuse to see it, doesn't mean that those who do are little girls or pants wetting toddlers. Maybe you should be benched for an attitude adjustment to posters whose opinions and ideas clash with your own...

No there's not.

    • This is probably as close to clicking on all cylinders as most teams get.  In any given 24-game period, some guys will be up and others down.  We have 9 players with an OPS+ of 116 or higher.  The four guys you mentioned will have hotter periods, and someone else will be cold then.  That’s baseball.  But the ratio of hot players to cold ones is really good right now.
    • I don’t see it.  Project guy.  Good upside but can’t see that in the first round. I think they go corner with the first pick unless someone unexpectedly drops. The assumption has been Oline but I think the draft is so deep and so many teams will be taking tackles that the Ravens will elect to wait until later in the draft to get Oline and WR help. Its not a deep corner draft, so getting one early makes sense. If they trade up, I wouldn’t think they trade anything higher than a 4th..could move up 3-6 spots. Trade back will likely get them a pick for next year.
    • Gunnar is our Kyle Tucker but at a more premium position.
    • I said Gunnar earlier. Before this season, I could have seen a case for Adley.  And I love Adley, great hitter (I don't think he's ever going to be a big power guy, but plate approach, contact, key hits, he's great) leader, heart and soul, etc.   But it's clearly Gunnar.  I didn't expect him to be this good, this fast.  He's separating himself from the rest of the pack, not only on this team but throughout the league. Whether or not an extension can happen is a different story altogether.  But Gunnar's the guy I'd go with first.
    • It is early, but the O's have some clear holes that will prevent a World Series run this season. And it looks like there are some teams playing there way out of contention already, barring a massive improvement in performance, making them likely sellers. At a quick glance, here are the teams that already could be looking to sell at the deadline. Some teams on the list made some offseason moves that signaled they are looking to compete. But early returns aren't looking good, and now they have an old team with pieces someone may find helpful, and without much talent in the pipeline. Tier 1 Losers Rockies White Sox Marlins Tier 2  - Not Looking Good Oakland Giants Angels Astros Cardinals Nationals I haven't really taken much look at the rosters to see what pieces could help us. So, who is selling? And Which of their pitchers have a chance to be on the market?
    • I still feel like our offense isn't clicking on all cylinders yet. Santander has been down, Adley hasn't found alot of extra base power, Holliday has been a black hole so far, Hays was bad and now injured, Urias hasn't hit well.
    • It should be noted that it was the 8-9 hitters up at the time of that call.  So while it was the wrong call, its not like the Angels definitely tie it if he's called safe.  There is a very good chance Rengifo makes an out a pitch or two later anyway. So yes, bad call, but we didn't steal the game away because of that one call.
