I'm not so sure he'll be claimed.   He's been mediocre in AAA, hasn't done well in his brief major league appearances and is 26 years old.

My guess is the O's didn't see much hope for Walker an OF and 1B is impossibly blocked and he just never hit enough to considered a DH

Precisely. He does nothing exceptionally well and he's already 26. He's a non-prospect anymore.

Bleier is a LOOGY candidate that'll will almost assuredly start in Norfolk and be on call if something happens with Hart.

I have to agree and never understood the fascination some had with Walker.  Shake a AAAA tree, and a dozen Walkers fall off.

For all we know, Walker is the PTBNL -- once he's off the 40-man and not claimed by another team.
