Where in the world is Carmen Jayson Aquino?

Is he hurt?

Did he get lost coming to the ball park?

Did he kick Buck's dog?

Has he been pitching in B games?

He has done everything the O's have asked of him and we have no seen him in a while.  How much rest is required from a 2 inning outing?

Good question.  I don't know where he's been but it seems it's been predetermined that Aquino will start at Norfolk in the rotation.  Two good starts down there could still put him in the mix for April 15.

There is only time for one start at AAA.   Season begins on the 6th.  Next start on the 11th.  Makes him available for the 16th not the 15th. And that is if he is pitches the first game of the season.

Executive vice president Dan Duquette said left-hander Jayson Aquino reminds him of former Brewers southpaw Mike Caldwell because of his delivery and assortment of pitches.

Caldwell was 137-130 with a 3.81 ERA in 14 major league seasons. He finished second in Cy Young voting in the American League in 1978.

Caldwell was one of the 3 pitchers that beat Ron Guidry during his 25-3 season.   All three were named Mike.

He has 5 names ???

My latest count had him at 4 (Jayson Julio Aquino Félix.)

If he has 5, he is probably at least in the neighborhood for the all-time MLB record for names for a single player (not including players who have changed their names, such as Fausto Carmona/Roberto Hernandez.)

In case that's the serious question, the original poster was just making a riff on the children's show "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego".

It was indeed a serious question.

I have barely heard of that show, and only vaguely remember hearing of it because you just mentioned it.

Thank you.

Aside from the runner who was thrown out trying to steal 2nd base, 10 out of the 11 outs that Aquino recorded came via the Groundout and the Strikeout.

Aquino has 14 Strikeouts and only 2 Walks over 15 innings Pitched for the 2017 Spring Training season.

After 4 starts for the AAA-Tides this season, Aquino pitched for the AA-Baysox today.

I'm going to be lazy and not combine his AAA-level and AA-level season statistics, and simply post his stats for his current team (AA-Bowie.)

76% of the outs the Aquino recorded (16 out of 21) came via the Strikeout and the Groundout.

He retired the final 16 batters that he faced, and 19 out of the final 20.

We need a SP for the Double header. Sending him to Bowie could have been a low stress tune up.

Norfolk was on the road today. Bowie was home. Now he’s lined up to go on Saturday.

Or we could give Wright his 112th shot as a SP.

i doubt we see Aquino in Baltimore.   He is not of the 20 man roster.   I  think he was sent to Bowie to make room for Lee coming off the DL at Norfolk.

Hess  could be recall for Saturday.   He is due to pitch tomorrow.   if he doesn't  or is inning restricted we will know he is being brought up on Sat.

I would rather watch Aquino and Hess pitch than Wright or Tillman.  Maybe they could both come.
