But Manny's play saved the game. If he doesn't make that play Trumbos HR ties it up at best. Give them each 1/2 of that win.

Wrong. If a replacement player were in Trumbo's place today, he would have struck out in such an embarrassing fashion that the Orioles would be too ashamed to play for a week. Therefore Trumbo deserves at least 5 WAR for his home run today. However, we better hope Trumbo doesn't hit any solo HRs in games we are already winning 12-2, because that is a waste of a run we could have used elsewhere and would therefore be worth -1 WAR.

He pitched better than Gausman... good Lord.

OK that's excessive but wow what a brutal inning he had.  Thought he looked a little rough though the 5-pitch inning was really impressive.

I enjoyed the win. But our ace couldn't go 6, and their 3rd and arguably 4th best SP shut us down. 

 

I wish we had a rotation like that.
