Does anyone miss Wieters?

I sure don't.  Castillo inspires more confidence for me at the plate, seems to do a better job setting a target, calls a good game, and is quick against the running game.  

I can't help but wonder why this guy didn't seem to get more interest in the offseason.  

I know it's early, but so far I am impressed.

Nope.  Worth nothing though is that Wieters is off to a very strong start in DC. 

1.114 OPS and no steals attempted against him.

I enjoyed rooting for him for those eight seasons or so, so in that sense yes. But I think the new guy will probably have a better season. And I enjoy rooting for him too.

I think it was time for both sides to move on.   I wish Matt nothing but the best, until he plays against the O's.  I don't miss having him on the team.

It's hard to miss him when I see him every time I turn a Nationals game on.

My answer is, I don't miss him -- yet.   I'm always preaching not judging players based on a handful of games, and that's doubly true of catchers.    I need to see how Castillo holds up over the grind of 162 games.    He has some habits I'm not crazy about, but so far has played very well.

I don't miss him.  I like Castillo's play calling a lot better.

Yes.    He's got quick hands, but in the long run some balls are going to get by him.

Its early, and Castillo is off to a good start. But I still say, over the course of the season, that we took a downgrade at Catcher. Only time will tell.

This is pertinent as it pertains to Wieters. I remember a few seasons where he would get off to a fast start and it would start to look like he turned a corner. We all saw how that played out every year.

Wieters - 4 in 204 games

National league though. Castillo has only faced the best of the best competition so far. All AL East teams.
