Really liked what I saw of Dosch in spring training this year. He's off to a great start in Bowie, he's repeating AA and I think he's a guy to keep an eye on. Castellanos left last night's game for Norfolk, with an apparent leg injury, so he might be heading up

If Castellano is down for a while, it'll be a toss up between Dosch, Marin, or Kemp.

Dosch has been on fire, but would probably be in a back up role in Norfolk. Why limit his playing time?

Marin is the one the O's want to have play multiple positions and be the next Flaherty/Janish role, but the bat hasn't quite come around.

Kemp is currently "inactive" and bringing him up wouldn't be any different than when they brought up Urruitia recently due to Chris Johnson's injury.

Like to see him moved around the diamond a bit.  Certainly 2B and maybe SS.  Could make a decent utility guy down the road.

He at least needs to learn to play 2nd.  I don't think he's a long term solution at 3B, so he needs to be a utility guy.  Good start so far.  His avg. is higher right now than Mullins.

There are four or five guys in Bowie hitting around .400 right now.

Dosch has always been able to hit a little.  Haven't heard much about his glove.  He's definitely not a speedster though.  If he's a pure 3B then he doesn't have a future as a big leaguer.

And DJ Stewart is batting .132.  I said it then, saying it now, bad pick.

I'd have to agree with the Stewart call. He looked terrible the times I saw him this spring, takes too many pitches. I think he needs a more aggressive approach at the plate, not much too like

Ha!

I'm not defending Stewart as a prospect.

But I think you have to admit it's funny that the one time Dan goes out of his way to draft a guy known for a good approach and high OBP in college you say he has to be more aggressive.

That was literately the one thing they were banking on.

My friend who used to be a scout said 2 things about him when I showed him who we picked:

1) batting stance won't play in majors (he was right)

2) not enough power for subpar defense in of (we will see)

Power?  He hasn't shown enough OBP.  346 OBP ain't going to cut it as your go to tool.

Doubt it. They activated Jeff Kemp from the inactive list/extended spring training.

I just saw that, could be temporary. We will see.

After as much as he struggled last year I wouldn't rush Reyes.  Give him a chance to get comfortable.  He's still young for his level.
