Not a whole lot of exciting performances there, folks.   Means, Hess and Grimes are doing respectably their second time through AA.    Wells is the obvious standout in terms of performance, but he doesn't strike out a lot of guys and Tony's recent scouting report of his May 8 start wasn't very encouraging.   We really need to see some guys pick it up.

I'd like to see Jhon Peluffo get some starts at Delmarva.  He's pitched 17.2 innings in 6 appearances, for 2.55 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 8.7 K/9.

Looking more in depth at his stats, he's been an extreme fly ball pitcher so far.  His FB% is 53.1%.and his HR/FB is just 3.8% (unsustainably low).

He was listed on a KATOH Super Deep Prospect list last week along with Yermin Mercedes, Gassaway and Yaz:

You might already know this, but Zach Stewart is no longer in the Norfolk rotation. The Orioles released him last week.

Thanks.   I thought maybe I'd seen something about that, but wasn't sure.

Right now he's been piggybacking with Seabrooke.   I would not be surprised to see him inserted into the rotation at some point.

I would give it some more time. It's early. A lot of these guys will straighten out. Funny how Ynoa, Aquino, and Wilson have pitched very well in their spot starts and then get lit up at Norfolk. I would like to see Steve Johnson or Richard Belier or even one of the Bowie guys doing well to get some starts over Wright at this point

I think the O's know exactly what they have in Johnson at this point.

And what is that?

I personally think Johnson is a useful guy to have in the organization     It wouldn't surprise me if he got called up at some point and pitched a few useful innings here or there.

Not disagreeing.  Just that they don't need to move him around and get a look at him.  He doesn't have an untapped ceiling.

He only threw 48.2 IP in 2016.  It's his first year of full season ball.  He doesn't turn 20 until June 16th.  He's a guy to watch.  If not a top 15 prospect.  They are just going to take it slow and probably not have him start games until the 2nd half of the season.  The goal is probably to get him to 100 IP this year.  Next year he could start out in Frederick's rotation at age 20.
