With Trey Mancini, Joey Rickard and Craig Gentry all available to play left field, do the Baltimore Orioles have a role for Hyun Soo Kim?

I like Kim, his approach is a breath of fresh air when compared to the rest of the O's hackers, but the bottom line is that his defense is bad, his speed/baserunning is bad and his power is bad. The O's have clearly better options than Kim.

Buck is often a hot hand type manager. As long as Smith and Mancini are hitting the way they are now, they'll continue to get most of the ABs. If Kim had a hot start I think we'd be seeing more of him around now.

And though I'm a Kim fan and have been advocating in other threads that we should hold on to him, I also have no problem with Mancini and Smith continuing to get the starts if they continue earning them.

I'd like to see him do a lot more pinch-hitting at least. Hardy and Joseph are getting too many late-game PAs for my taste.
