It's funny, before they came back with the decision, while they were showing the replay, I commented to my gf, "it's plays like this one that make me happy about instant replay."  Of course they didn't overturn it...

Some explanation would be nice. The only one I can think of is "We weren't sure whether that was the left field line or the right field line, so we couldn't tell whether a ball to the left of the foul line was foul or fair." What was questionable about that ball that touched nobody and then landed 6-10 inches in foul territory?

Mauer's career B.A. is .307 but it's been steadily decreasing since 2014. It wd be too bad if it ends up sub-.300. He's 34 and in his 14th MLB season.
