So how do you fix the rotation?

For all the screaming about what a mistake it was to let Bridwell go, he really has not shown much this season.  He's got a 1.448 WHIP in his magnificent 9.2 innings in the bigs this season, so he's been lucky in not giving  up runs.  And in his 40.1 minor league innings this season, he has a combined 5.80 ERA.

I always liked him. He would have made a shuttle piece. Shame they did not put Zach on the 60 back then. Or Santander.  Who knows if he will ever have a career.

Thats an interesting idea. But what teams have enough major league quality pitching depth to make the trades? Not sure you want to put prospects in the rotation if you are trying to make a playoff run. It would save us from dealing from a weak farm though.

Three way deal.

Send Britton to a contender for a blue chip prospect.   Send the blue chip prospect to a non contender for a veteran starter.

Since Britton has two pennant races before he is a free agent the O's should net more than one blue chip prospect.   Yankees got two first rounders for Andrew Miller plus two other minor leaguers from Cleveland.

Just for fun and this probably will never happen.

Britton to the Nats for Fedde and Kieboom

Fedde and Kieboom to the Mets for Steven Matz

Then see what it would take to get Derek Holland.
