The Idea That the Orioles Are Contenders Is Laughable

A famous man once said the ceiling is the roof.  Right now Eddie Gaedel can't fit under the Orioles' ceiling for the year.

They score four runs in the first five innings and can't even sniff a lead?  They're setting a record for most consecutive games where the pitching staff literally ***** the bed?

When 2/5 of your rotation are among the worst at simply throwing strikes and 3/5 struggle to get past even the fourth, then I don't care how close you are in June, you have no shot.  This is simply the worst pitching staff all decade and it's laughable to think it can get them to the postseason.

Time to start over.

I don't post very often but I had to here. This team is an utter mess. The starting pitching is horrendous. The only one of the bunch worth keeping is Bundy. Gausman seems to regress all the time. Tillman looks to still be hurt.

The Davis contract was a huge mistake by Angelos.

The Orioles minor league system is close to being the dregs of baseball. People can sugar coat it all they want but it won't change the fact that unless we make big changes, this team will be bad for a long time.

I've read online that the Orioles brass feel like they are contenders, meaning they will be buyers at the deadline. Sorry, but that's just nuts. We gotta SELL.

Trade Machado now and get some good young players. There is no way we're paying him 400 million. Trade Britton. The only players I wouldn't consider trading are Bundy, Mancini and Schoop. It is seriously time to go in a different direction.

This team is unwatchable.

Exactly where I am, even down to the ones to keep.

Change the whole overall strategy if there is one starting with a complete elimination

of dumpster diving and then determine who is responsible for pitching evaluation and

fire everyone involved. Furthermore they haven't determined the real reason they loose

on a consistent basis and it's not the pitching, when they do get the rare quality start

they don't win those because they can't consistently produce 4 or more runs a game because

the lack of an intelligent approach to offense results in them trying to win games based

on solo home runs. No wonder they can't score 4 a game as that requires 4 home runs a game.

They are not a baseball team they're a beer league softball team.

I just got a great idea for the next promo giveaway to be done at the very next home game.

Each fan should be issued a paper shopping bag to avoid being identified as associated

with the ensuing embarrassment and also a white flag to be waved at the appearance in the

box of the first opponents batter

2012 to 2016 was a breath of fresh air.  Now back down to earth of pre 2012 losing game after game with no chance.  Just imagine we still have our core and losing just wait until they all leave.  Our savior paid by PA Chris Davis which is mostly the reason we are 8th in payroll.  So we have no money to get future talent.  I guess you have to love losing to love the O's.  We are addicted, we will stick with them no matted what.

This is the worst we've been since we started winning in 2012.  We're not even "in" a lot of these games.  The rotation has always been shaky.  The great bullpens have allowed us to prop up the rotation for years now.  Plus we're just not having those "magical" seasons by guys this year.  Last year Tyler Wilson was pretty decent for about 10 starts.  Vance Worley was lockdown out the pen.  TJ Mac and Jason Garcia were good as rule 5 guys.   Luis Ayala.  Etc...   We're just not getting that unexpected performance this year.  Except for Mancini.

This team doesn't have any Orioles Magic this year.
