If they didn't sign C.Davis for the ridiculous 160 mil contract and waited for Mancini instead, they could have had Manny for $140 mil plus $160 saved from C.Davis.  Lack of smart front office.

It doesn't make sense to spend so much on one player. You can cripple your team doing that. Since the O's are a small market team. IMO

Huh?

They traded two minor leaguers for Hecheveria.

And they (the previous GM) picked Beckham #1 overall in the draft, and he has certainly not lived up to the promise.

If you want to credit their management, then the pickups of Logan Morrison and Mallex Smith look pretty good.   But you picked some odd examples, unless you were somehow being sarcastic or something and it flew right over my head.
