50 Days Until Tip Off

With the O's season effectively over and being only a partial football fan, I start looking forward to my second favorite sport to watch on TV.  Terps basketball can't come soon enough! 

 

Oh and the Terps added a point guard from Mexico as walk on for this year:

I’m usually very optimistic heading into the season, but this year I’m a bit concerned. Hopefully Cowan has improved. Wing play outside of Huerter is a big question mark as are the bigs. Fernando has potential but I’m not sure his offensive game is polished enough just yet to be a real contributor there this season.

Keldon Johnson is announcing and signing his NLI Saturday.   It really looks down to Kentucky and us.    Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the season. 

Jackson, Huerter, and Cowan (3 of our 4 best players from last year) are a year older and could take big steps forward. Front court depth court should be improved with Bruno Fernando and Josh Tomaic - and a full healthy season of Cekovksy.    

Will be interesting to see who the go-to scorer is this year because we didn't seem to have one when Trimble wasn't on the floor.  Jackson and Huerter can light it up at times but are best when they are letting the game to come to them IMO.  Jackson really needs to improve his handle.  Then I could see him taking over games.

Found an online stream for this Stony Brook game. Looks like we have depth with bigs this year. Sean Obi is a big dude who actually seems competent. Ceko looking solid. Bruno Fernando with a slam on his first touch. Key to the season is productive big play and Cowan playing under control.

Shoulda checked here before I posted...or paid to watch the game.  I tried my "normal" online source and could not connect to anything.

Agree completely on Cowan.  Could make or break us.   I agree they both let the game come to them, but I think Jackson has to be the one to take over late.  Just not sure that is his thing though.....
