(ONE YEAR LATER)

Mikolas finished a great season with 8 Innings Pitched and 0 Earned Runs in a win against the Cubs to keep the Cardinals' faint playoff hopes alive.

Mikolas was working with the slimmest of margins, as the final score of the game was 2-1 with the 1 run scored by the Cubs being unearned.

His finished with an 18-4 W-L record, a 2.83 ERA, and a 1.071 WHIP.

This reminds me of the David Ortiz situation years ago when he was available on the cheap from the Twins.  I remember typing on another O's board that he would be at worst the O's 3rd best hitter (after Gibbons, lol).  I understand the O's can't bid on the Tanaka and Matsui type international players, but they should be all over lower priced options.

Not worth the risk. Instead let's sign Cashner and Cobb. Our defense is so stellar we don't need high-end pitching talent.

Yeah, but we're in the AL East and Camden Yards.  So if he came here my calculations say he'd have a 5.40 ERA.

This is ridiculous. ? Why would you assume his ERA @ Camden Yards in the AL would be 5.40. Huh?

I mean...If you also consider the defensive adjustment and then the pitching coaching adjustment you should be at around 7.00.
