I was hoping the Orioles would at least kick the tires on him.  Appears to be getting 2 years around $15.5 per Heyman.

*Mikolas.  Can someone please fix?

Thanks.

Seemed like a reasonable target.

With Mikolas getting 7.75m/yr coming out of the Japanese  League, the market for FA starters is going to be high.  Really high.

It's almost like everyone needs starting pitching and there aren't many solid options.

I think the pitching market has been heading that way for the past couple of years, crazy what these guys are getting.

The funny thing is the Cardinals didn’t really need starting pitching.

Going into 2017, the Mets thought they had six good starters.  Only one made it through the year.

Oh, I agree, you can never have too much pitching and some projection systems are really high on Mikolas.

Truth be told, given the resources of the Orioles, I thought Mikolas was nearly a must have if the Orioles really wanted a chance at above average starters. There's really no reason they shouldn't have been all over him at 2/15. With teams like the Yankees,Cubs etc all over the Cobbs,Lynn's etc of the world the Orioles are going to have to overpay as is. Mikolas would have been a cheap arm with upside that far exceeded the cost.

There is talk that they are stockpiling starting pitching so that they can trade young pitchers for a bat.

Thought this guy had Dan Duquette signing written all over him. Maybe it means we're in on some of the better pitchers...but then again probably not.
