Cashman is a genious because they unloaded some guys for prospects. Those prospects became immediate super prospects after the media was done. Now they are back to having a $300 million payroll.

Don't think so.  I think they can still get under the luxury tax threshold and they would be foolish not to.

I read they were under it even with Stanton. Then they traded Bradley. Could they defer money in 2018? Does that affect the tax?

As I understand it,  deferring salary doesn't help the luxury tax situation.  I believe that Davis counts as 23M in the luxury tax calculation.
