Manfred has to defend Jeter on Marlins actions

Given how some folks dislike the commish, does this statement actually help the team, or help condemn it?

Screw the Marlins and their fans.  Two rings for them more than the Orioles have had in my lifetime.

This is how winning is built in MLB today, this is the path that the Astros took.  I understand everyone is all butthurt that they traded some of their guys away but they need to chill a little.

Yea, ultimately I'm not sure why people are acting as though this is some terrible thing.  The trade might not be great, but it's not outside the bounds of reality.  That contract is monstrous and there weren't many teams realistically that were going to give big value to take the majority of it on.
