I'm not saying that it's Burnes or bust. But we certainly need longer term commitments/roster stability from the pitching side of things. This is Eflin's last year and we have ZERO high level pitching prospects. We haven't even attempted to draft any in what 7/8 years. -

It’s a little tough to watch the activity surrounding the free agents signed at the winter meetings without feeling a little nervous about the orioles lack of aggressiveness. Adding O’Neill and Sanchez were solid moves. Moving in the left field fence is a good move. The guys that were rookies last year should be more effective this year - at least hopefully. I am not disappointed about not signing free agents signed at pitchers to long term contract at ridiculous prices. These guys pitch once every five days and injuries are very likely. Very risky signings. I think the O’s have enough talent to get to the playoffs even if they only upgrade pitching with through a trade. Stock up on post season pitching at the trade deadline! That’s when we’ll most need it. -

Because he generally hits lefties well and O'Hearn doesn't. We signed him to be a backup/platoon DH, not a pure backup C. -

I think you may be overrating Burnes somewhat. He is about 1 WAR better than Castillo the last three years. There were stretches he struggled with command and had trouble putting guys away. It's been a while since he was a true CY candidate. I will be thrilled to get him but if we get someone close to his production without the long term commitment I could be OK with that. Comparing to last year isnt relevant. The question is whether *Burnes* is worth the money and especially the years. If not, then you have to find other ways to improve the team. Also don't forget we already added Eflin. -

Maybe if we had been more proactive last offseason beyond Corbin Burnes, things would have turned out differently. No? There's a report out there that John Angelos wanted to pursue Juan Soto and Mike Elias wouldn't. Maybe if we had Soto last year, we go to the World Series instead of the Yankees? -

By this point last offseason all the O's had done was the usual waiver claim cycle...oh, and they had signed Craig Kimbrel. Which didn't really work out. So we're trending in the right direction? You're angry because you're impatient. Not because this organization has done anything wrong. That's on you. -
