I'd be interested if it could be part of a 3-way deal for Manny, with the other team being one of our suitors that doesn't have enough pitching for us. Otherwise, we'd probably be giving up more in prospects than would be prudent.

I like Duffy.    But if I had a choice of signing Cobb for 4/$60 mm and giving up a second rounder, vs. trading more talent than that for Duffy and then paying him 4/$60 mm, I’d probably sign Cobb.    Of course, Cobb has to be available at that price and has to be willing to pitch for us.

The thing is Duffy doesn't have a choice, Cobb does.

Cobb scares me from a durability standpoint. Duffy does not, but Duffy will cost some serious pieces to pry out of KC.

I would guess it would have to be at least one top five guy from our system and another top 10-15 guy.

I can't say I would blame someone like Jones knocking a few back after they get slaughtered by 5 runs for the 5th night in a row. Pitching is what is needed and pitching is not what will be had. It'd drive anyone to drink.
