Which hat should the O's wear next season?

I agree 100%. I have the 1966 one that you do. What seals the deal for me is that when you are out in the city or whatever' date=' you see many more of the cartoon bird hats than the actual regular hats they wear. I am not a big fan of the O's hats at all but, I don't mind it occassionally.

To me, if you see more people wearing your former hat than the current one, it's time to make a switch. The regular bird hats they wear now are atrocious.

I wouldn't say they're atrocious...I actually like the "correct" bird, and really loved it when they were introduced in 89. But it's time to get back...get back to where we once belonged.

I'd like to see the O's wear that hat that gets passed out after the last game of the year. You know, after Huff takes Kerry Wood deep in the 9th inning of game 4. The one that says "World Champs" on it. Yep that'd do it.

I actually loved them back in '89 too when it was brought on. However, the new changes to the bird are pretty bad.

But, either way, they need to go back. I don't even own a current hat b/c I think they are so ugly & I usually have 2-4 in the rotation at all times.

They have hats in the team store that are listed as "1955" hats.

It has this really nice "B" on it. I'm trying to find a picture if I can.

And I hate to pull a Cindy but no no no to wearing a B hat. It might look nice but that is Boston's thing and the last thing I want is to be accused of copying the Red Sox.

The one being floated around as 1955 has a gothic "B", similar to the "D" that's traditionally on the DET hat. It's bogus.

There's also a bogus one floating around that's labeled 1962.

I have no idea where these came from, but it's not from O's uniforms.

Personally, I favor the current cap, with the '66-74 cap replacing the "O's" one as the ALT.

I think the ALT uniform should be a cleaned-up, slightly modified version of the '66 uniform, with everybody wearing the stirrups the right way.

Last night, JJ is the only guy who did that. Nobody else, just JJ. IMO, the way BRob and a few others wore them made them look like circus clowns.

I wanted to make a poll about switching the entire uniform. The throwbacks last night were amazing, they should be permanent.

They should combine the new style and old style. The script is awesome. I really don't like the sleeve piping or leg piping...Keep the piping simple or non-existent with that script, and we have a classic and classy uni.

Maybe you're right about the sleeve piping, but it just seems so 80s style to me. I'd rather see classic piping styles. And agreed on the stirrups. I wouldn't mind them wearing solid orange socks instead of black. That'd be a good look.

Disagree. Don't want that uniform back. Actually the minor league Orioles wore something that I think the group here would likely accept as a compromise.

Both jerseys shown above are minor league Orioles jerseys (likely Bluefield, but the older may possibly be Gulf Coast). Personally, I'd go for the second jersey shown, changing the letteing and numbers to orange/black/white (sets up my alternate and road jerseys). I'd also consider the first one as a Sunday only vest.

Either the current hat, or the cartoon bird. The O's hat is the worst orioles hat I've ever seen. The B hat wouldn't be bad, but I don't like it. I like the hats with the bird.

It looks nothing like the Red Sox cap.

And don't the Mets and the Yankees both wear "NY" on the caps? Imagine the Mets had said, "nope, that's the Yankees thing. I guess we'll have to be generic as possible."

Also, why did the bird change in the late 90s? The one introduced in '89 isn't that exciting, and it may be less scientifically correct than the current bird, but it also doesn't look like a duck.

I'd like to see the following for next year:

1) Home cap: current bird cap with the black bill. I think the orange bill looks silly on that one. For those that hate the current bird, I wouldn't mind going back to the early 90s bird either. But I like both. I think they're classy.

2) Friday alternate cap: cartoon bird on the black panel, orange bill. Would look awesome with black alt jerseys and ORANGE socks.

3) Away cap: brand new B design to go with our new Baltimore Jerseys.
