Which hat should the O's wear next season?

Disagree. Don't want that uniform back. Actually the minor league Orioles wore something that I think the group here would likely accept as a compromise.

Both jerseys shown above are minor league Orioles jerseys (likely Bluefield, but the older may possibly be Gulf Coast). Personally, I'd go for the second jersey shown, changing the letteing and numbers to orange/black/white (sets up my alternate and road jerseys). I'd also consider the first one as a Sunday only vest.

That first one is what they wore around 93 or 94 or so, because that's when I bought my authentic which I had personalized, and that's basically what it looks like, save for different sleeve design. The second one they definitely wore during the mid-90s, and in fact, it looks a lot like the uniform jersey they were wearing when Ripken broke the streak, except for some reason they reversed the color scheme on the front numbers:

I like the cartoon bird -- the cap has got to be solid color all-around.

Another idea, I know the B on the hat would be a lot like Boston, but how about wearing the Cartoon Bird at home. Then wear the black hat with the orange B with our Baltimore road jerseys.

I'd like to see the following for next year:

1) Home cap: current bird cap with the black bill. I think the orange bill looks silly on that one. For those that hate the current bird, I wouldn't mind going back to the early 90s bird either. But I like both. I think they're classy.

2) Friday alternate cap: cartoon bird on the black panel, orange bill. Would look awesome with black alt jerseys and ORANGE socks.

3) Away cap: brand new B design to go with our new Baltimore Jerseys.

I was watching the US Open Sunday and some guy in the scoring tent when Tiger Woods came in was wearing the O hat that everyone hates.

It does seem to be a good seller.

If its a good seller it most likely won't be leaving.

I'm fairly young. I've never seen them in the World Series. I think with this new direction we should have a totally new uniform. New jersey, new hat, new emblem. I think being stuck in the "good ole days" will only harm this team. Not taking anything away from the teams of before, but this is a new team, new direction, and should have a new look. Not a reminder of days gone bad.

The first one was worn in 1997, the second after 1999 (that's definitely the 1999 script pattern, before Majestic got sloppy with it). I guess they chose to not use orange numbers on the minor league jerseys so you could tell them apart from the major league ones at a glance.

While I think a number of things should change on the Orioles jerseys, my changes would not be particularly radical. I'd just look to unify some elements, clean up some others, and restore some things here and there.
