Jack Morris (announced in December)

Alan Trammell (announced in December)

Chipper Jones

Vladimir Guerrero

Jim Thome

Trevor Hoffman

Oriole Hall of Famers who didn't go in with an Oriole hat:  George Kell, Robin Roberts, Vladimir Guerrero, Tim Raines (am I missing anyone?)

Edit:  Obviously I missed Thome and Reggie Jackson.

Edit#2:  And Luis Aparicio and Hoyt Wilhelm and Robert Alomar and probably some more guys.

I was at work, towards the end of the day, and obviously my brain was not operating on a high plane at the time.

Reggie Jackson is one.

Mussina only got 63% of the vote.

And is David Ortiz really going to get in before Edgar Martinez

I am absolutely ashamed that I missed that one (even if it was for half a minute.)

Me, of all people.

You suck, Patrick.

I don't think any of those players of Oriole Hall of Famers.   The are players that played for the Orioles that went into the HOF.

Mussina increased to 63 percent this year...2019 I think  he will make it.   Mariano Rivera for sure, Roy Halladay very likely, Edgar Martinez,  Schilling, Mussina....Andy Pettite will miss out in first year, imho.

I don't think Halladay is as likely as you do.

The emotional bump from his tragic death got him over the line for me...but it is borderline first ballot.

I'm not sure crashing a plane while showing off with drugs in his system is going to give a big bump.

The Hall of Fame has been pretty consistent in their stance that amphetamine usage is ok. It isn't like he was on steroids.

    • Flanagan when he was the GM  said one time about this fan base why serve them steak when they are perfectly happy with a hamburger. I totally see now why he said it.    Have to call you out on that. Just because Flanny said does make it so. From 1997 they went from 3.7 million to 1.7 fans in 2011. thats demand destruction that resulted in what losing more than half the fan base. Of course becoming a two market team again helped things along. The other thing was 13 staight losing seasons and Flanny was part of it. the fan base was not impressed with Hamburger Helper stratagy
    • I think he absolutely would. I don't think Mullins is worth anywhere near 21 million. My opinion of course...
    • The bats all get a year older next season. For our team, that’s a really good thing.  It’s like we’d rather read a “fluff” peice on (insert FA) than on Jackson Holliday because the notion is that he’s some “failed spoiled rich kid”. It’s sick.
    • Why do you think Elias would say we’re out? When has he ever done that?
    • It may not have been the only reason but it was the overwhelming reason.  The Os were rolling out a lineup where half of it shouldn’t have been in the majors. They were forced to play some guys that aren’t ML players.  You said the defense was an issue. Westburg was out and that was a big issue there. Mounty was out. Adley’s injuries effected his defense. The idea that you are brushing it off considering the players we had hurt just shows how disingenuous you are. You just want to cry about money being spent and ignore everything.
    • This really isn't that difficult, everyone knows we need more pitching, especially Elias.  I am not going to throw jabs at the owner and Elias right now because it is too early to do so.  That doesn't mean I am giving them a pass it just means we need to let this play out more. We set here as fans making statements when we don't have any of the information that Elias and company have.  It is possible that Burnes has said he won't come to Baltimore unless the O's come in significantly higher than team X.  If that is the case, I would certainly avoid that scenario.  Fried has top of the rotation stuff but injury concerns and he just got locked up for 7 years.  Do any of us think that is a contract that will likely work out long term?   Maybe Elias is too conservative which makes him tentative to pull the trigger on some deals.  At the same time, maybe that isn't a bad thing because you don't want to make a dumb deal just because you emotionally want to show the world that you aren't afraid to spend.  A dumb contract for a pitcher who can't sustain a high level of production is not a good idea for a mid-level revenue team.  That one contract may prevent us locking up some of our future stars which would be way more disappointing than losing out on a guy like Burnes.   We can win without Burnes, we need more pitching but there are many ways to skin a cat.
    • Elias is rarely funny, so that was pretty good haha.
