Wells control has to be a 70, at least.  If walking 10 batters in 140 innings isn't maxing out at the control tool, I don't know what is.

@Can_of_corn is right, I think he projects to 70 control, but that’s a future grade.

I’m surprised at the 60 glove for McCoy, I think he’ll stick at SS, but plus, I didn’t see that. Jake Ring is at least a 60 glove in RF.

A few interesting features from their list:

10. Hanifee

12.   Sedlock

14.  Lee

19.   Ramirez

30.   McCoy

Lee and Ramirez are the only ones I have real issues with. I think they are both middle relievers.

I think McCoy at 30 is premature, it's hard to judge players playing against much younger competition. It looks like there is SS defense and a hit tool, but I want to see him against age appropriate competition before I buy in.

Sedlock only dropping to 12 is defensible, he was still showing decent stuff even with the crappy mechanical changes to the delivery. He was well scouted when drafted and has legit talent.

Hanifee at 10 is premature as well, IMO. Just so much development left, but I get it, the guy has a world of potential, most athletic pitcher in the system.

I think Stewart is being underrated at #13, Luis Gonzalez and Aruajo are low upside guys, I'd prefer McKenna or Mesa or Ring or Vespi. Hess is a bit high for me, I don't think he's a starter, and I'd like to see him in relief before ranking him like he has late inning potential.

Scott having the best FB and Slider in the system is pretty cool. Is his FB really an 80? That would mean almost unhittable, wouldnt it.

It's a legit 80, doesn't mean it's unhittable, but it's pretty tough to do anything with. It sits 98-99 over 3 innings of work, hitting 100+ frequently. It also has good movement. All from the left side.

.190 Batting Average against tells some of the story.

Color me unimpressed by McCoy's defense at SS. I don't think he has the arm, or quickness to play SS in the majors in anything other than a Flaherty-like replacement level. Defense in my mind would have gone to Mullins. Never seen Sparks, but did hear he has a plus arm.

    • Now if someone could find a list of Boras clients with respect to their WAR, that would be interesting. Pre FA and after.
    • Eric Longenhagen's chat today on Ethan mentions a flaw that EL regards as so damaging as to reduce him to mid 1st round. 12:45 Refugee: Appreciate your insight on Over-Slot recently. Do you consider Ethan Holliday’s swing flaw being identified this early something that works for (he’s not even 18 yet) or against him? 12:45 Eric A Longenhagen: Fugee is talking about this podcast appearance: Ep. 125: Jim Callis and Eric Longenhagen join the show. A Draft Lottery Preview. | Patreon 12:47 Eric A Longenhagen: I’m not sure it’s correctable, I think his hands just work in a way that leaves him very vulnerable to many fastballs up/away. I have him more middle of the first round. 72% contact guy on the showcase circuit, hit .240 and slugged .380 when you add up his entire multi-year showcase sample. Love the raw power potential, don’t think the performance merits a top 5 pick. But the Colorado/Holliday connection and Washington’s willingness to take guys like Elijah Green looms.
    • I'm fine with Castillo but I would like another piece too whether it's Buhler, Manea or another trade like Montgomery who won't cost any big prospects one would think. I sure hope they won't be satisfied with just Castillo as he isn't as good as Burnes. If Baltimore is losing a TOR and not replacing him with a TOR then make the rotation as deep as possible so we don't see another situation like last season.
    • Exactly   Let it play out and judge the postseason when it is complete.   Being made at Elias for something you think he might fail to do is... kind of silly.
    • It will be interesting to watch all the outfield results from Santander/Teoscar down to Hays. Whether you like the play or not, locking down a Boras client to be a market setter rather than a follower was an aggressive move. 50 for O'Neill looks better if Santander actually commands the 5 years reports are tonight he's seeking.    Maybe the market is so healthy Dombrowski miscalculated and the gift of early free agency is a windfall for Hays.
    • I'm not expert on that.  So I remain open to hearing anyone's disputes regarding my projections, but I did my best to project a fair, median ground for the collective. It would be nice if Frobby was here to check my work.
    • Any flexibility for AR and TON leaving, would almost certainly be eaten up by the increases in the other guys' Arb salaries.  And you're also walking into Gunnar's last season of control, so has he been extended?  Or do you trade him? I'm not saying you can't sign Burnes.  But I am saying if you want to keep payroll under 200 mil, and still be a competitive team, he better be pitching at a high level for the salary he's projected to be making.
