ST is barely underway, and you are already worried about the season being over and rebuild for 2019.

This thread, in a nutshell, is why I haven't been around very much since August. I can't stand this constant negativity. SMH

Some of the really bad doom and gloomers, Ive put on ignore, they are just too negative to even try and read.

It been a hard and long off-season, in OH, more than usual.

Not that it's the worst scenario if we are somehow a really good team, just that if we hang around are in fact a last place team, like last year.

I would love if we hung around and were a very good team.

Are Dan and Buck the right combo to rebuild the team for 2019.

Plenty of money coming off the books.

Possible not here for  2019: Dan/Buck/Manny/Adam/Zach/Brad/Tillman

DD will not be back as I am sure he can't wait to leave.   Perhaps we can work something out with Adam.  We should be Ok with the other guys leaving we have a lot of young position players ready to come up.  Harvey could be ready next year as well.  If Bundy and Gausman are healthy we will have a rotation of Harvery, Cashner, Bundy, Gausman and one other pitcher.  We have outfielders ready to play in the bigs next year.  We have potential third basemen ready.  I don't see a need for a rebuild.

There will be a ton of free agents next year. The big spenders will put all their money into the top guys.  Will be plenty of guys for us to sign cheap to fill out the roster.

If we are out of it at the trade deadline you trade Manny for a prospect pitcher who is major league ready and you could get your fifth starter there.

I'm an optimist, but I don't see anything wrong or doom and gloom about a smart sell off of guys who are near free agency every once in a while.

Well, how else would you look at the upcoming season?

How about some optimism?

Is Cashner / Castro / Cortes / Mesa / etc, an improvement over Miley, Ubaldo and company from last season? Not sure, but hopefully.

Lets try and get May under out belt, before we say we suck.

I notice you left Tillman off the list.................  ;)

Hopefully Tillman is an upgrade over Tillman.  It's certainly possible.........Buck def seems to think so and I believe he's not just blowing smoke.

No, the doom and gloomers say AJ sucked last year, even with a 2.5 WAR and with every key they hit on the keyboard, its putting down the FO and the team.

Keep in mind, some of these posters have been saying since 2012 that the team needs to do a full rebuild.

Tilly is a low risk investment, he produces, or they cut his strings, and DFA him, and next man up.

I hope Tilly 2018 is an improve over Tilly 2017.

Having a good Tilly as 3rd or 4th SP, can only help the club!!!!! :)

I know there are a few, one name really jumps out at me, I'm not saying there aren't pessimists among us. I just think whether or not the team sells at the deadline if struggling is a legit conversation point, since under PA the team has had a tendency not to do this against conventional wisdom.
