This was Cobb's first 9-Inning Complete Game since the 2012 season, and it came against a very potent Cleveland Indians offense.

He did have one Complete Game in 2013, but he was on the losing end of the decision, and he subsequently only pitched 8 innings in said game.

Excited to see how Cobb does with a full year next year. Think he was a good pick up by Brady, IMHO. Wish he was signed earlier, however.

Cobb’s already got his ERA below Bundy’s, and could pass Cashner before the season ends.   He leads the team in IP despite his late start this season.

I hope Cobb pitches this well next year. I’m not sure what his trade market will be like next year because of the length of his deal, but if the Os have to pay him then I sure hope he is a respite from the pitching frustration that we are likely to endure next year. And I also hope he’s one mentally tough cookie. He’s in line for more L’s on well pitched games next year.

He needs a big game tonight to really rate, but he's a candidate for August AL Pitcher of the Month.  He's 4th in ERA heading into tonight - the competition is:

Snell - 1.04 ERA in 26 IP - next start is 9/1 so he's done

Price - 1.33 ERA in 27 IP - has Marlins at home tonight

Fiers - 1.38 ERA in 26 IP - has Mariners at home Friday

Cobb - 1.80 ERA in 35 IP - likely needs 7 shutout innings tonight to get ERA to low-1.00's, and then maybe the 50% innings edge on Snell plays.

This was only the 2nd time in Cobb's career in which he ceded 3 home runs in a game ........ the only other time that it happened was in high-altitude Colorado, back in May of 2013. 

It was his first bad outing in 9 starts.
